Creation of engineering unit for building sector

2015

Creation of FT Pro-Mecânica Lda in Mozambique which specializes in mechanical engineering for the Oil & Gas sector

2014

Rebranding of Fortaweld Ltd into Fortek Mauritius Ltd followed by the merger of the commercial activities of FORGES TARDIEU Ltd with Fortaweld Ltd. The new entity being specialized in the procurement and supply of: welding consumables & equipment, garage equipment, steel product (long products, flat products, piping and stainless steel), valves, gearboxes and electric motors.

2012

Creation of Fortek Sierra Leone & Fortek Rwanda. Acquisition of Watertech Ltd a company specialized in water engineering.

2011

Creation of Tradelink Ventures Co. Ltd., a procurement office based in Hong Kong and closure of GBTC International Ltd.

2010

Creation of OISEL Nouvelle-Calédonie in New Caledonia which specializes in water treatment engineering.

2008

Setting up of GBTC International Ltd., FORGES TARDIEU’s first subsidiary in China.

2001

Creation of MSE Océan Indien in partnership with Malataverne Services Environnement (MSE), a subsidiary of Veolia Water Systems. That company specialised in water and waste water treatment was wholly acquired by FORGES TARDIEU in April 2008 and renamed OISEL Ltd.

1994

Creation of Tardieu Technical Support Ltd to provide maintenance services to the local industry, more specifically in relation to steam boilers and ships.

1992

Creation of Tardieu Control Specialists Ltd, which was rebranded as Electrical & Control Specialists Ltd in 1998, a company involved in the design, supply, installation and commissioning of instrument and control systems used in industrial production.

1988

Creation of Fortaweld Ltd which was rebranded as Fortek Mauritius Ltd in 2014. Fortek Mauritius Ltd is the exclusive agent of Soudure Autogène Française (SAF) and distributes a large variety of welding and cutting equipment and industrial gases.

1981

Creation of Fotaflex Ltd., a subsidiary involved in the manufacture and sale of a wide range of joints, seals, gaskets, flexible couplings, belts and various other products related to industrial maintenance.

1980

The centralisation of the sugar industry brought about the closing down of factories but resulted in the improvement of their logistics. Changes in the market context led to the restructuring and diversification of operations. In addition to the mechanical workshop and foundry, a whole new range of services were introduced, including engineering, sub-contracting, procurement and construction, allowing FORGES TARDIEU to deliver turnkey projects, offer advisory services and supply a wide variety of equipment to industries in Mauritius and the region.

1971

FORGES TARDIEU purchased Gustave Maurel et Cie, which had specialised in the casting, repair and supply of equipment for the sugar industry since 1905.

1931

FORGES TARDIEU was established as the result of a merger between the two companies: Les Forges et Fonderies de Maurice Ltd and Tardieu et Cie Ltée.

1908

Paul Tardieu et Cie Ltée renamed to Tardieu et Cie Ltée.

1890

Fonderies et Constructions Coloniales renamed to Paul Tardieu et Cie Ltée, three years after being taken over by Jules Poculot and Paul Tardieu.

Creation of Fonderies et Constructions Coloniales

1850

Creation of Les Forges & Fonderies de Maurice Ltd by Barron Frères et Cie, a leading company supplying the steam navigation sector.
